The Odyssey: A Chinese Cinema Season (UK) is accepting films until May 5, 2024; and Corporate Films until June 5, 2024. Theme for this year is ‘Food and Travel’

About the festival:
Odyssey is the biggest film festival of its kind in the UK, as en engagement space to encourage conversation and constructive debate with Chinese communities worldwide and Greater China. The festival is accredited by the British Council and recently recommended by Screen International, as one of the festivals to look forward to in 2024 in the UK.

Eligibility:
– The festival accepts both short and feature films.
– Films should focus on food or cooking; travel, meaningful scene of Chinese food, proposes solutions to food waste reduction, carbon footprint reduction, raises awareness of eating disorders (from Greater China, diaspora communities or international co-productions).
– For the Corporate Category films should captures a company’s effort in contributing to the UN’s 17 SDGs and ESGs.
–Films should have been completed after January 1, 2022.
– No premiere status is required.
– All submitted films should be original work, the entrant is the legal holder of the copyright of the work.
– All submitted films must have English subtitles, and preferably also with Chinese subtitles.
– Submission Fees:
* General Category – $ 26.02 USD
* Corporate Category – $ 260.22 USD
– Deadlines:
* General Category – May 5, 2024
* Corporate Category – June 5, 2024
– Notification Date: June 30, 2024
