The Yin Yang Master Zero directed by Sato Shimako will open the Golden Horse Fantastic Film Festival which will take place from April 12 – 21, 2024 in Taipei, Taiwan.

In the Heian period, nearly a thousand years ago, belief in unseen forces was widespread. Abe Seimei, a young student at Onmyoryo (the Bureau of Yin Yang Masters), is renowned for his exceptional talents, but he is also rumored to be a “Fox Child,” who’s capable of using black magic. When aristocrat Hiromasa seeks his help to unravel a mysterious phenomenon affecting royal family member Yoshiko, Seimei is thrust into a vicious conspiracy and a powerful curse. (GHFFF 2024)

About the Director:
Sato Shimako is a director and screenwriter born in 1964 in Iwate, Japan. An active creator with works spanning film and television, she debuted as a film director with Tale of a Vampire, followed by Eko Eko Azarak: Wizard of Darkness, K-20: Legend of the Mask, Unfair: The Answer, and Unfair the End. The Yin Yang Master Zero is her latest work.
