Dear Asian filmmakers, the SITGES International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia (Spain) is accepting fantastic films until July 15, 2024.

About the festival:
The Sitges – International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia is a competitive festival, specializing in fantastic genre, festival in accordance with the regulations established by the FIAPF.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Hollywood has also declared the Festival to be a “Qualified Festival” for the Oscar® Awards. This means that those shorts winning the awards for «Best Short Film» in the Official Fantàstic Selection and «Best Short Film» in the Anima’t section will automatically be taken into consideration by the Selection Committee of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Hollywood for the Oscar® Awards.

Eligibility:
– All films submitted must be fantasy-themed, interpreting this concept in a broad sense, while bearing in mind at all times that quality and the creation of tendencies are a priority objective.
– Films should have been produced between 2023 and 2024.
– All films must be Spain Premiere.
– Short films should not exceed the 30-minute mark.
– Feature length films can be submitted to: Fiction feature film, documentary feature film; Animated feature film; Brigadoon (Feature Films); Sitges Family (Feature Films). They can be submitted in one of these five categories only.
– Short films can be submitted to: Live Action Short Film; Animated Short Films; Brigadoon (Short Films); Sitges Family (Short Films). They can be submitted in one of these four categories only. Please be sure to carefully read the notes to keep in mind for submitting short films to the Festival at the end of this document.
– Submission of work in progress is accepted. This production status must be indicated at the time of registration by checking the appropriate box or by indicating it in parentheses after the title.
– Submissions must be done via FestHome.
– Submission Fees (FestHome may include additional fess):
* Feature Films – 75 Euros
* Short Films – 50 Euros
– Deadline: July 15, 2024
– Notification Date: September 2, 2024
