Dear Asian filmmakers, the Buenos Aires International Independent Film Festival – BAFICI (Argentina) is accepting short and feature films until January 31, 2024.

About the festival:
It’s one of the most important film festivals in Latin America. Year after year it offers the best selection of work by national and international film-makers. It has become the platform where innovative and avant-garde cinema is shown, offering the public the opportunity to catch those short and feature films that don’t usually get programed in movie theatres.

Eligibility:
– Submissions are open to feature and short films.
– Films accepted can be fiction, documentary and experimental.
– Films must have been produced after January 1, 2023.
–The Festival gives priority to national, international, and worldwide premieres of foreign films, as well as worldwide premieres of Argentine films. It also prioritizes regional premieres (American, Latin American, South American) in both cases.
– The program of the Festival will include competition and non-competition sections. The selection committee will decide the section in which films will participate.
– Submission must be done via the festival’s website.
– Selected films will be screened in their original version.
– Selected films will be exhibited in their original version. For foreign films: If a screening copy with Spanish subtitles exists, it will be preferred for the Festival. If there is no copy with Spanish subtitles, a copy with embedded English subtitles will be required (unless the film is spoken in English).
– Submission Fee: FREE
– Deadline: January 31, 2024
– Notification Date: End of March 2024
