The Malaysia International Film Festival is accepting feature films for their Competition Section until February 24, and Non-Competition Section until March 24, 2024.
About the festival:
The 7th Malaysia International Film Festival (MIFFest) serves as a public exhibition dedicated to showcasing exceptional international and local films within the picturesque landscape of Malaysia. Catering to a diverse audience of cinephiles, the festival aims to promote and raise awareness of global cinema an art form and cultural expression that upholds the core values of humanity.
Programme Categories:
* Competition Section – For new films by emerging directors.
* Non-Competition Section: films from aspiring filmmakers from around the globe and the locals.
Eligibility:
– Films must have been completed after 1 January 2023.
– All films entries must satisfy Malaysian Premiere.
– All feature film submission must be directed by the New Directors (who only directed less than 3 feature films).
– The festival only accepts feature films over 60 minutes in length.
– Film formats and video systems for theatrical screening that can be presented during the Festival are: DCP or, in exceptional cases, video file (.mov or .mp4).
– English subtitles are a must for the films and others are optional.
– Submissions must be done via the festival’s website.
– Submission Fee: FREE
