Spaghetti Ramen directed by Ozawa Kikuno will open the Camera Japan Festival which will take place in Rotterdam (September 20 – 24, 2023) and Amsterdam (September 28 – October 1, 2023).

Five years after the death of director OZAWA Kikuno, alias CHI Yen Ooi, his family has brought an exclusive screening of this low-budget, avant-garde, live-action/animation hybrid to CAMERA JAPAN. A paranoid fever dream in which a down-on-his-luck and sexually frustrated restaurateur/author lusts after his wife who has been forced into prostitution for money. Meanwhile, his young daughter starts to daydream about a godlike praying mantis, French-speaking turtles and crawling eyeballs, who tell her only she can save the universe.
