
These are five short films you shouldn’t miss at the Seoul International Architecture Film Festival which will take place from September 6 – 17, 2023 in Seoul, Korea.

A female hotel employee wanders around different guestrooms and searches for an unreachable dream. Wandering in other people’s dreams, she encounters guest and hears a story about a woman who dances deep inside her dream and a dancing procession. (SIAFF 2023)

Gyeongwon, head of the excavation team of Buried Cultural Heritage, discovers some buried cultural artifacts in her land while conducting a field survey to build a house three. She then starts dumping the artifacts into the land of a blind person every night so that her own land doesn’t get designated as an excavation site. (SIAFF 2023)

The world of Shigeru Ban is explored against the background of an exhibition installation of his work in Australia. This short film looks at how Shigeru Ban combines his passionate preoccupation with the construction of temporary shelters for those affected by natural disasters, with the stresses of running a multi-national commercial practice creating such work as the recently completed Cité Musicale, Paris. (SIAFF 2023)

The film accompanies three outstanding female architects from three different countries in their daily lives – Toshiko Mori (New York City), Gabriela Carrillo (Mexico City) and Johanna Meyer-Grohbrügge (Berlin). In the film, we hear about their individual life journeys, their ideology, and their sources of inspiration. The protagonists talk about the challenges they face as women in the industry and share their views on the architecture of our time. (SIAFF 2023)

Between summer and fall, Han Yeoreum travels to Jeonju, where her friend Suyeong lives. She stumbles upon Jungwoo and spends a short afternoon with him. Which moment will they remember as memorable episode of youth? (SIAFF 2023)
