Mom, is that you?! directed by Yamada Yoji will close the HK Cine Fan – Summer International Film Festival which will take place from August 15 – 30, 2023 in Hong Kong. The festival is presented by the Hong Kong International Film Festival Society.

For his 90th film, 91-year-old maestro Yamada Yoji reunites with the legendary Yoshinaga Sayuri for the touching third film of their hit ‘Mother Series’. This time, Yoshinaga plays the mother of Akio, a human resource manager whose career and family life are on the brink of collapse. When he goes to visit his mother, he finds that she has traded her apron for stylish clothes and has even fallen in love. Perplexed, Akio gradually comes to get hold of his mother’s transformation, and rediscovers something he had lost sight of. Unabashedly sentimental, it is an overwhelming testament to the strength of mothers. (SummerIFF 2023)
