These are twenty short films you shouldn’t miss at the Busan International Kids and Youth Film Festival which will take place from July 10 – 16, 2023 in Busan, Korea.

Collision by Amirhossein Mohseni – Iran | 2023 – 15 minutes

Sina a 13-year-old kid has been in jail for stealing and hitting the shop owner. He alongside with a social worker go to the owner to talk but the situation gets more complicated than he expected. (BIKY 2023)

Differentiation by KWON Ye-ha – Korea | 2023 – 16 minutes

A-jung is informed of her mother, Kyung-sook’s terminal stage of cancer. Kyung-sook suggests a special funeral like a party to A-jung. So, they prepare a special funeral for Kyung-sook while appreciating the food she once used to enjoy, the clothes she used to wear, and the songs she liked. When Kyung-sook passed away. Elephant in the Dark by KIM Nam-seok – Korea | 2022 – 22 minutes

Someone broke the camera during film shooting. Woo-hyeon, who is visually impaired, starts searching the culprit who is running away with her hearing-impaired friend, Ha-yan. This short film was developed in the “Barrier-Free” format to help disabled viewers have easier access to visual contents and to raise awareness of barrier free films. (BIKY 2023)

Alert! To save a friend, ‘Autumn’ that is in danger due to an environmental crisis, kids are struggling. It is a story about those kids and a mysterious man. Could the kids save and protect Autumn? (BIKY 2023)

Gravity by PARK Ji-in – Korea | 2023 – 27 minutes

Young-sun has grown up in a children’s home from the early age. She can only see her mother once a year, only on her birthday. It’s her 18th birthday and Young-sun hopes to live with her mother from now on. (BIKY 2023)

My Xixter by JO Hyun-kyung – Korea | 2023 – 25 minutes

Nana, Nunu, Nini, Nono by KWON Joung-won – Korea | 2023 – 28 minutes

Nana must obtain the written consent of her dad and her “moms” so that she and her younger siblings can change their names which were originally given to them without much thought. (BIKY 2023)

Paperplanes by Arvind Singh Jeena – India | 2023 – 7 minutes

In a primary school classroom, a fun filled, hyper mischievous, noisy bunch of 4th graders are caught off-guard as the teacher walks in unannounced; followed by a surprise test of creativity and character. Will all of them complete it in time? (BIKY 2023)

Report to the Class by NAM Seo-jeong – Korea | 2023 – 27 minutes

Eun-yu, a captain of her high school library club, lost a book in which she kept the donation money. Shortly after, Baek-ji, one of the members of the club, returns the book but the money is gone.
