The Kaohsiung Film Festival (Taiwan) is accepting International Short Films (until June 10th) and Taiwanese Short Films (until June 30th). Here you can find more information about their Call for Entry.

About the festival:
Kaohsiung International Short Film Competition is dedicated to discovering new filmmakers and to enhance cultural exchanges through short films. We are extremely looking forward to bringing your culture and short film to Taiwan.

General Rules:
International Competition
– Short Films must be produced after June 1st, 2018.
– Work in progress are not accepted.
– All genres are welcome (fiction, documentary, experimental, animation, etc.)
– Short Films should not exceed the 25-minute mark (including opening and closing credits).
– Re-submissions are not welcome.
– No specific requirements for premier screening.

Taiwan Competition
– Filmmaker must be Taiwanese citizen, or resident and Taiwan should be the main production country.
– Short Films must be produced after June 1st, 2018.
– To be eligible for Taiwan Student Award, directors must be current student in school (including the class of 2019).
– Work in progress are not accepted.
– Short Films should not exceed the 25-minute mark (including opening and closing credits).
– Re-submissions are not welcome.
– No specific requirements for premier screening.

VR Competition
– VR360 videos, interactive, installation or other forms of VR works completed between January 1st, 2018 and June 30th, 2019 (submission deadline) are welcome for submission.
– All genres accepted.
– No limitations on work length.
– Not allowed if previously submitted to same competition, including edited or retitled versions, are not eligible for re-submission.
– No specific requirements for premier screening; however, works with World premier, International premier, or Asian premier status are considered for priority.

– The festival gives Cash Awards.
– Notification Date: September 30th, 2019
